Bendigo Bank - Sandringham Rebel Sport
Open Women

The Sandringham Soccer Club has one largest and longest running girls' programs in Victoria.

We field women's teams in several different divisions including Bayside's first Women's Premier League and Reserves teams.

Generally, females U16 and over are invited to play on one of our Women's League teams. No experience is necessary as the competition is graded and players will be assigned to teams based on their ability and skill levels.

For more information, please see our Women's Program FAQ's below.

If you would like to speak to someone about our program, please contact our women's league coordinator (contact details can be found under Contact Us on the left hand menu of the home page).

Sandringham Soccer Club Women's Program FAQ's

Question: When will the season start? When and where are the games played? How long does the season last?

  • Games are played on a Sunday. The season begins in late April/early May. The duration of the season depends on the number of teams entered in each age group but generally the last game is around the first Sunday in September, with breaks during the school holidays. For this season's start and end dates, please visit our season timetable under Info for Members.
  • Half of the games are home games and half are away games. Sandringham is in the Southeast Region of Football Federation's competition and away games are usually confined to that region. Kick-off times vary as the FFV leaves it to the discretion of each club to nominate kick-off times but generally games are played on Sunday afternoons.

Question: How long do the games last?

  • Women's games are played for 2 × 45 minute halves.

Question: How do I register? How much will it cost?

  • The cost is based on your age and not on the team in which you play as registration fees are based on the cost of insuring our players. For example, if you are an U16 girl playing in a women's team, you would pay the fee for a junior girl. Please visit our Register to Play page for this year's fees and registration information.
  • Generous family and concession card discounts are available.

Question: What do I need to play?

  • All players are required to wear soccer boots and shin pads both to training and during games.
  • Sandringham Soccer Club official shorts and socks must be worn and can be purchased from Rebel Sport, Shop 3047B, Level 3, Westfield Shoppingtown, 4 - 10 Jamieson Street, Cheltenham VIC 3192. Team shirts are supplied by the club to players at cost.

Question: How will I be assigned to a team?

  • The women's league competition is a graded one which caters for players of all abilities and skills from beginning players, to developing players, to experienced/advanced players. You will be assigned to a team that has players of like ability. Generally, a series of informal grading/training sessions will be held pre-season to determine team assignments. Final team assignments will be made as soon as possible after the club registration deadline. You will be contacted by your coach or team manager regarding your team assignment and your training time.
  • Please visit our Club Policies for more information about our grading and team assignment guidelines.

Question: When and where does training occur?

  • Generally, each team has a weekly training session of approximately 1 1/2 hours duration. It is up to the coach to determine which day of the week that is best suited to his schedule. If there is a day on which you cannot train, please indicate this on your registration form.
  • Training is usually conducted at Spring Street in Sandringham (Melways Ref: 77 A12).
